As I prepare for my third mission trip to El Monzón, El Salvador, my heart is filled with both anticipation and a deep sense of purpose. My first visit in the summer of 2023 introduced me to the warmth and resilience of this beautiful community, and each year since has revealed new ways we can serve and support them. Our Mentor Leaders team works hand-in-hand with the local church, providing much-needed resources, spiritual guidance, and love. This year, however, presents an unprecedented challenge. The passing of their head pastor, Carlos Vega, in July 2024 has left the community in a fragile state, making our mission all the more urgent and vital. Pastor Carlos not only made an impact in his community, but in ours here in Miami too. He was a man I was blessed enough to call a friend, mentor and guide.
The church in El Monzón has always been a beacon of hope, but with the loss of Pastor Carlos, the congregation is in need of healing and support like never before. Our mission this year will not only focus on continuing the physical and spiritual work we’ve done in the past, but also on helping the church rebuild its strength and stability in the wake of this tragedy. I am reaching out for your support to make this possible. Every donation will go directly toward sustaining this community in its time of greatest need, allowing us to provide essential services, supplies, and encouragement as we stand with them through this difficult season.
Thank you for your consideration and donation. God Bless!
