Light in Darkness

In 2016, the Mentor Leaders school in Giotin, Haiti, was able to be built. Giotin is a notorious city for being central in the (sad) decision to devote the country to VooDoo (read about our beloved Togo to see more about how that arrived.). In a country devastated by earthquakes, economic issues, and humanitarian challenges, and being helped by international efforts, Haiti is a country experiencing an obvious need for the transforming power of the Gospel to sweet across its youngest citizens! And God granted us the ability to do just this. The children and families we serve in Haiti are hungry to see God glorified as they embrace the chance at a new life with a solid, Jesus-filled education and the everyday (but sometimes difficult to acquire) provisions to give the breathing room to dream of an abundant life. While Haiti currently doesn't have the ability to send mission teams and meet a sponsored child face-to-face as of Summer 2025, this is the location where we do need the most sponsors to assist our precious children since the sustainability efforts can't be rolled out until our children have sponsorships to help them get to the point of the exciting Restoration step. But we believe people want to help others!

Praying for the heart of the Country

While travel restrictions and advisories say not go there because of widespread dangers, Mentor Leaders ministry in Giotin continues to bring visible transformation in the life of this small north Haitian village. With your help, we bring aid, restoration and sustainability to the village year after year. We hope to have you join us in the future as we continue our work through our Youth Bible Camp, Child Connect, Medical Teams, and Construction mission trips.

Mentor Leaders is always excited to see you fulfill your calling during one of our mission trips.  We strive to schedule these trips far enough in advance so that you can make adjustments to your personal calendar.  Sometimes, beyond our control, natural disasters and conflicts, due to airlines, foreign countries, and COVID, we may have to reschedule or cancel trips.  We will make every possible effort to find a spot for you on another trip within 12 months and to apply any unused donations to your trip account. 

All donations made to Mentor Leaders are non-refundable due to IRS regulations.

Trips to Giotin, Haiti have been paused for now. We hope to continue to our trips as soon as we can. We will continue to support the school and the community of Giotin during this time.

This is our most challenging mission trip as travelers will be expected to stay outdoors in tents. “Roughing it” is a popular phrase that comes to mind. This trip is often an adventure and not for the frail or faint of heart! Come join the good news adventure through prayer, sponsorship, and at a later date, hopefully a mission trip.
